Saul Tries to Kill David
1. And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
1. Saül parla à Jonathan, son fils, et à tous ses serviteurs, de faire mourir David. Mais Jonathan, fils de Saül, qui avait une grande affection pour David,

2. But Jonathan Saul's son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:

3. And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
3. "Je sortirai et je me tiendrai à côté de mon père dans le champ où tu seras; je parlerai de toi à mon père, je verrai ce qu`il dira, et je te le rapporterai."

4. And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:

5. For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
5. il a exposé sa vie, il a tué le Philistin, et l`Éternel a opéré une grande délivrance pour tout Israël. Tu l`as vu, et tu t`en es réjoui. Pourquoi pécherais-tu contre le sang innocent, et ferais-tu sans raison mourir David?
5. "Fa izy efa nanao ny ainy tsy ho zavatra ka namono ny Filistina, ary Jehovah efa nanao famonjena lehibe ho an' ny Isiraely rehetra; ianao nahita izany ka faly; koa nahoana no dia hanota handatsaka rà marina ianao ka hahafaty foana an' i Davida?"
6. And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
6. Saül écouta la voix de Jonathan, et il jura, disant: L`Éternel est vivant! David ne mourra pas.

7. And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
7. "Jonathan appela David, et lui rapporta toutes ces paroles; puis il l`amena auprès de Saül, en présence de qui David fut comme auparavant."
7. Ary Jonatana niantso an' i Davida, ka nambaran' i Jonatana azy izany zavatra rehetra izany. Ary Jonatana nitondra an' i Davida tany amin' i Saoly, ka nitoetra teo anatrehany tahaka ny teo aloha izy.
8. And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
8. "La guerre continuait. David marcha contre les Philistins, et se battit avec eux; il leur fit éprouver une grande défaite, et ils s`enfuirent devant lui."

9. And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
9. Alors le mauvais esprit de l`Éternel fut sur Saül, qui était assis dans sa maison, sa lance à la main.
9. "Ary tonga tao amin' i Saoly ny fanahy ratsy avy tamin' i Jehovah, raha nipetraka tao an-tranony izy, ary nitana lefona teny an-tanany; ary Davida nitendry tamin' ny tanany."
10. And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin, but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
10. David jouait, et Saül voulut le frapper avec sa lance contre la paroi. Mais David se détourna de lui, et Saül frappa de sa lance la paroi. David prit la fuite et s`échappa pendant la nuit.
10. "Ary Saoly nihendry hamely an' i Davida tamin' ny lefona, fa nisoroka niala teo anatrehan' i Saoly izy, ka ny rindrina no voan' ny lefona; dia nandositra Davida ka afaka tamin' iny alina iny."
11. Saul also sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
11. Saül envoya des gens vers la maison de David, pour le garder et le faire mourir au matin. Mais Mical, femme de David, l`en informa et lui dit: Si tu ne te sauves pas cette nuit, demain tu es mort.
11. "Saoly kosa dia nandefa iraka ho any an-tranon' i Davida, hiambina azy, hamonoany azy raha maraina; fa Mikala, vadin' i Davida nilaza taminy hoe: Raha tsy mamonjy ny ainao anio alina ianao, dia hatao maty raha maraina."
12. So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
12. Elle le fit descendre par la fenêtre, et David s`en alla et s`enfuit. C`est ainsi qu`il échappa.
12. "Koa dia nampidina an' i Davida tamin' ny varavarankely i Mikala; ary lasa nandositra izy ka afaka."
13. And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats' hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth.
13. "Ensuite Mical prit le théraphim, qu`elle plaça dans le lit; elle mit une peau de chèvre à son chevet, et elle l`enveloppa d`une couverture."

14. And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
14. Lorsque Saül envoya des gens pour prendre David, elle dit: Il est malade.
14. Ary nony nandefa iraka haka an' i Davida i Saoly, dia hoy ny vavy: marary izy.
15. And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
15. Saül les renvoya pour qu`ils le vissent, et il dit: Apportez-le-moi dans son lit, afin que je le fasse mourir.

16. And when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats' hair for his bolster.
16. Ces gens revinrent, et voici, le théraphim était dans le lit, et une peau de chèvre à son chevet.
16. Ary rehefa tafiditra ny iraka dia indro, ny sampy no teo am-parafara sady voasaron' ny makarakara volon' osy ny lohany.
17. And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
17. Saül dit à Mical: Pourquoi m`as-tu trompé de la sorte, et as-tu laissé partir mon ennemi qui s`est échappé? Mical répondit à Saül: Il m`a dit: Laisse moi aller, ou je te tue!
17. Dia hoy Saoly tamin' i Mikala: Nahoana ianao no namitaka ahy toy izany ka nandefa ny fahavaloko, ary afa-nandositra izy? Fa Mikala namaly an' i Saoly hoe: Hoy izy tamiko, avelao aho handeha, fandrao hovonoiko ianao.
18. So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
18. C`est ainsi que David prit la fuite et qu`il échappa. Il se rendit auprès de Samuel à Rama, et lui raconta tout ce que Saül lui avait fait. Puis il alla avec Samuel demeurer à Najoth.
18. "Dia nandositra i Davida ka afaka ary tonga tany amin' i Samoela tany Rama, dia nambarany azy izay rehetra efa nataon' i Saoly taminy; ary nandeha izy sy Samoela ka nonina tany Naiota."
19. And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
19. On le rapporta à Saül, en disant: Voici, David est à Najoth, près de Rama.
19. Ary nisy nanambara tamin' i Saoly hoe: Indro, Davida ao Naiota any Rama.
20. And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
20. Saül envoya des gens pour prendre David. Ils virent une assemblée de prophètes qui prophétisaient, ayant Samuel à leur tête. L`esprit de Dieu saisit les envoyés de Saül, et ils se mirent aussi à prophétiser eux-mêmes.
20. "Ary Saoly nandefa iraka hisambotra an' i Davida; ary nony nahita ny antokon' ny mpaminany maminany izy ireo ary Samoela mitsangana eo ho lohany, dia tonga tamin' ny irak' i Saoly ny Fanahin' Andriamanitra, ka dia mba naminany koa ireo."
21. And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
21. On en fit rapport à Saül, qui envoya d`autres gens, et eux aussi prophétisèrent. Il en envoya encore pour la troisième fois, et ils prophétisèrent également.
21. Ary nony nisy nanambara izany tamin' i Saoly, dia nandefa iraka hafa izy, ary ireo koa dia mba naminany. Ary Saoly nandefa iraka hafa fanintelony, nefa naminany ihany koa ireo.
22. Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
22. Alors Saül alla lui-même à Rama. Arrivé à la grande citerne qui est à Sécou, il demanda: Où sont Samuel et David? On lui répondit: Ils sont à Najoth, près de Rama.
22. "Ary dia lasa nankany Rama koa ny tenany, ary tonga tao amin' ny lavaka lehibe famorian-drano izay ao Seko izy ka nanontany hoe: Aiza Samoela sy Davida? Ary hoy ny anankiray; Indreo, ao Naiota any Rama izy."
23. And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
23. "Et il se dirigea vers Najoth, près de Rama. L`esprit de Dieu fut aussi sur lui; et Saül continua son chemin en prophétisant, jusqu`à son arrivée à Najoth, près de Rama."
23. Dia nankany Naiota any Rama i Saoly, ary tonga tao aminy koa ny Fanahin' Andriamanitra, dia nandroso izy sady naminany teny am-pandehanana ambara-pahatongany tany Naiota any Rama.
24. And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
24. "Il ôta ses vêtements, et il prophétisa aussi devant Samuel; et il se jeta nu par terre tout ce jour-là et toute la nuit. C`est pourquoi l`on dit: Saül est-il aussi parmi les prophètes?"
24. Ary nanaisotra ny fitafiany koa izy ka mba naminany tahaka ny sasany teo anatrehan' i Samoela, ary izy nandry nitanjaka mandritra iny andro sy alina iny. Koa izany no nanaovan' ny olona hoe: Saoly koa moa mba isan' ny mpaminany?
